Ask a Question

Naturalizer asked: Why did you choose this?

Jessica asked: I don't really understand the Shaft concept, What exactly is the shaft and where is located in a shoe?

  • Debra: "At the top of the boot. If you have larger legs below the knee and boots are normally too tight fitting below the knees - these are great!"
  • Debra: "At the top of the boot. If you have larger legs below the knee and boots are normally too tight fitting below the knees - these are great!"
  • Kathleen: "The shaft is the long portion of the boot that goes up your calf. Wideshaft is for a larger calf."
  • Alicia: "Hi Jessica, The shaft of the boot is from the top of the heel up, all the leather around your leg would be consider the shaft. I Hope this is helpful."
  • Glenda: "The shaft is the part of the boot located at the shin/calf area. The extra wide shaft allows the boot to fit the larger calf. A lot of people can't wear taller boot styles because they can't pull them up high enough. Hope this info helps."
  • Elissa: "The shaft is the opening from the heel to top of your calf. Since I am under ,5ft. It is hard to find boots wide enough in the calf area since they go all the way to my knee. These are great for me in the wide shaft. Comfortable and dont squerze my calf."
  • Stephanie: "The large shaft gives you more room for your calfs. "
  • Sarah: "I think they should be called "wide calf" as others are. I was a little confused, too, but the shaft is just the calf part of the boot. I have big calves and the boots are perfect! I hope this helps!"
  • Nilda: "The shaft part that is being referred to in this shoe is the calf down to ankle. The boot is made wide for those who have a wider calf -like myself. The actual foot part is medium fit. The shoes themself are comfortable and having the side zipper really helps to put the boot on without a struggle. "
  • Maria: "I think it's the thickest part of your calf, that's what I measured and it worked very well, love these boots, super comfortable and can be worn with just about anything, really having fun with these ones."
  • Julienne: "The shaft is the leg part of the boots. I actually have a big calf so this boots works out just right."
  • E: "The shaft is the part of the boot that fits around your calf."

Denise asked: I am unsure about what an inside quarter zipper means. Can you please either show a picture or provide an explanation?

  • KAREN: "Easier to get on and off and tuck pants leg in."
  • Hillary (staff): "Hi Denise, An inside quarter zipper is a zipper on the inside of the boot that doesn't zip all the way up the leg. Its made that way because its easier to put on and tak eoff. I hope this helps, Hillary"
  • Jennifer: "It's a zipper on the inner ankle of boot that doesn't zip to top of shaft - to make them easier to put on. Easy to zip and comfortable"

Susan asked: how wide is the shaft?

  • Maria: "About 17 inches wide, very comfortable and very cute, looks great with skirts and leggings, I am in absolute love with them."
  • Hillary (staff): "Hi Susan, For a complete list of shaft height and circumference measurements for each size, please click the "Boot Measurement" icon located above the "Add to Cart" button. Thank you, Naturalizer.com"
  • Alicia: "I would say it is about 16 and half inches. That is on a 7W the larger the size of boot the shaft will be wider. Also the shaft is lower in the back so it doesn't totally go over the ball of your calf. Very nice boots."
  • T.A.: "It was not wide enough for my calfs. They are so pretty too. I will have to send my back. Large legs run in my family and these were my second attempt for boots for the season."
  • Stephanie: "It's pretty decent as I have plenty of room; however, I also ordered the brown and noticed they aren't as wide. Hope this helps!"

Michelle asked: What is the shaft height and calf circumference for a size 10 m?

  • n: "why is the circumference of a 10 smaller than that of a 9.5?"
  • Hillary (staff): "Hi Michelle, The shaft height measures 11", and the circumference measures 15 8/16". Thank you, Hillary"

rada asked: What is the shaft circumference of them in centimeter? . Double appreciation if you kindly explain what is the definition of shaft and calf according to naturalizer?

  • Brittany (staff): "Hello Rada, Please provide me your size, I will be happy to provide you the circumference in centimeters. The Shaft height is the measurement that is taken on the inside seam of the boot, and is measured from where the shaft meets to sole of the boot, to the top of the shaft. To determine where the top of a boot will hit on your leg. The Calf is how the boot will fit around your leg. Does this make sense? Thanks, Brittany"
