Ask a Question

Naturalizer asked: Why did you choose this?

  • sonia: "looks nice with jeans"

Amy asked: How wide is the circumference of the shaft on a size 9M?

  • Mitchell: "My size 7 has a circumference of 14 & 1/2 at the top of the shaft. I like these books & they are extremely comfortable. But perhaps they are better suited for a younger person, for someone who wears skinny pants (as opposed to merely slim pants). The shaft is so soft that my slim pants do not stay tucked in. And the shaft is the beauty of the boot! Wearing one's pants legs over the shaft negates the whole aesthetic as the "shoe" part of the boot is only so-so. They would look great with tights and a short skirt."
  • Michelle: "I purchased a size 7 and I have a narrow foot. I thought the boots were pretty narrow. I probably wouldn't feel comfortable with a thick heavy sock but a medium to thin sock fits the boot well."
  • Phyllis: "In my size it nearly reaches my calf and there is some extra room. It's not made as a fitted boot."
  • Lizette: "Sorry, Got a lil confused.the Shaft part which covers the ankle to the calf sort a speak, is pretty loose. Not tight at all, i like the fit. My only concern for some is the tighness one feels in the width part, i have skinny feet (not a narrow size but skinny) but the regular size for me was very snug, i ordered a pair for my sister who has a wide foot and had to order a wide size and it was snug for her."
  • Dianne: "Hi Amy, I wear a size 4 shoe and i have very skinny legs. I can't exactly say how wide the shaft is but i can say it looks fine on my leg. it's pretty wide but because the boots are short it still looks good."
  • sharon: "Wide enough to be kind of slouchy. But I don't mind that."

mabel asked: do these shoes run wide and are they true to size?

  • Carla: "The length seemed accurate but they do not run wide, run narrow, I guess, since the wide is a medium. I don't understand why they are labelling it a wide."
  • Amy: "I think these run narrow. If you order a wide, it might fit more like a regular. I'd imagine the standard is narrow because my 9.5W fit quite snug. They don't feel wide at all."
  • Linda: "Very true to size. Not wide. My second pair. First pair other color did stretch with everyday wear for about 3 straight months. L"
  • Holly: "I have a wide foot so I ordered a wide boot. The length is a true size nine. I love these books. Comfortable and cute. I got the green."
  • karen: "No, they run narrow, even the wide width was too narrow for me. The length was correct"
  • barbara: "No to both questions."
  • Linda: "They are true to size - they do not run wide they areca oerfect mefium fit. Thet are my favorite boot and are very very comfortable at the end of the day. My daughter bought some, too, and she had a broken foot and they still do not bother her. I would definitely try them. "
  • rene: "Best boots I ever bought .Very comfortable lightweight as well. May purchase another pair they are on sale now."
  • rene: "Best boots I ever bought .Very comfortable lightweight as well. May purchase another pair they are on sale now."
  • Annie R.: "Sorry I can't help you with this question, because I will have to return the pair that I purchased….so sorry because I have one foot that is a bit swollen and I will have to purchased a size larger, because I really, really, really love the boot… so sorry I can't help at this time, but I love everything about the boot itself… so for me they didn't run wide enough…."
  • Marion: "I saw the comments on here that said they run narrow and to order a half size up which I did and they are great! So comfy."
  • Cindy: "I think they were very true to size!"
  • Joreen: "Yup. It runs wide and is true to size"
  • Alakananda: "For a wide shoe it's a tad bit narrow, squeezing the feet. But since it a softer material it's a very comfortable shoe. I have a bunion in one feet so it's feels too tight on that feet, but the other one it's okay."
  • J: "The length is good but I would have been better off with wide instead. The sole is good and should be good for foul weather. The toe almost looks like the shade was worn. My husband said it made them look broke in. I like mine but would suggest wide width."
  • ELLA: "They r true to size. They r comfortable and stylish. Love the green "
  • H: "True to size. I have a wide foot and these are flexible enough to fit comfortably."
  • karen: "Naturalizer run narrow as a rule The Wides fit more like a medium. I have these in 8 Wide in green. I never wear wides except in naturalizer shoes and boots. No support in these at all. But these are cute. Just not good for long walks or long standing periods"
  • Barb: "I would say they run true to size."
  • R: "not wide, run true to size"
  • Virginia: "I'm not sure, as I returned them because the green was not the shade that I wanted."
  • rene: "Best boot I ever bought.Very comfortable. Light weight too."
  • rene: "Best boot I ever bought.Very comfortable. Light weight too."

Suzanne asked: Do they work in snow? I have wide calf are tight ? Wide is to big fir me is med comfortable?

  • Darlene: "You would have to treat them for the weather. I got a pair in a different color prior but they were a little roomy. The half size smaller was better even though I have wide feet."
  • Lizette: "They r a lil narrow and i have a skinny foot. If you have a wide foot get wide. "
  • AMY: "They could work as snow boots since the sole doesnt slip. But they're suede and can get water marks plus they're not very warm. I have wide feet but the calf is now too loose. All in all I do love them with skinny jeans. Very cute and stylish. "
  • Christina: "This is not a snow boot. It is very light weight and strictly a fashion boot. You would not want to get them wet either. The shaft is wide enough to be comfortable but not too wide. For a fashionable looking snow boot try the Keen "Betty" boot. I have a pair and they have been a great investment."
  • Frances: "I personally don't like to wear suede in the snow or rain because I think the suede will be absorbent. The boots are extremely comfortable, I have them o n right now. I wear a size 8 M and they fit great. I am wearing them with a pair of cotton medium weight socks. I hope this helps to answer your question Suzanne."
  • K: "I would not wear them in the snow because they are suede. I don't think having a wide calf would be a problem because they are short."
  • M: "Hi. The tops of my boots hit 6-7" above the ankle and are plenty loose enough to tuck boot-leg jeans into them. Also, I wore them in snow without problem, but they're not waterproof or lined to provide snow boot warmth and protection. "
  • Kim: "Hi Suzanne, I live in a warm climate (Texas), so I can't help you with the snow question. I have them in medium and find them to be extremely comfortable. I am really enjoying these boots. I have a wide calf as well, but they don't go much past my ankle, so its not a problem. I would recommend them!"
  • Rhonda: "I wouldn't wear in snow. Very comfortable but not for walking in snow. "
  • Jacqueline: "They are definitely not tight and believe would be a great option for a larger calf, I haven't worn them in the snow but after a water treatment I would imagine they will do great in snow. I recommend these boots."

m asked: is this boots water resistant?

  • Christine: "I sprayed mine with a waterproofer, but I haven't worn my in wet weather yet. I hope they are waterproof now!"
  • C: "I purchased the red boots--love them. I have gotten them wet in snow and would not say they were water resistant, but they dried well and actually they look even better- I don't like "new" looking boots. . Maybe you could spray them with the water proof spray. I personally would be more concerned that that might discolor the suede, but if you need them water proof it might be worth a try. Hope that helps"
  • Robin: "I don't believe so. They are suede. I returned them and never wore them outside so I'm not sure, but they did not seem water resistant."
  • Rosanne: "I always spray my boots with a water resistant spray. I did this and let them sit 24 hours and have worn them in the snow with no problems. You have to spray them pretty heavy - especially at the seams. Hope this helps. On a side note, they are very comfortable. My husband has asked me why I have worn them on our walks - told him they are more comfortable than my walking shoes."
  • Jane: "Most suede boots I've owned are fairly water resistant. I always use a water resistant spray on them before I wear them so I'm sure that helps. They would only soak through if you're out for quite a while in a real downpour."
  • Mitchell: "I doubt that it is water-resistant. In the picture it looks like the bottom has been treated with something, but in real life the bottom matches the suede on top. I do not choose to wear mine if rain is forecast."
  • Phyllis: "Just the soles are rubber like , I don't wear them in high snow or rain. But I love them."
  • lori: "No, they are not. You would need to spray them with a protectorant. They are suede, there is no lining at all. It does have a wood heel, and a great sole, but I would not wear them out an a wet, snowy day. However, they are wonderful, I love them! I wear them from early fall on. They are a fashion boot, not a winter boot."

Jaimee asked: Could you wear these under boot cut jeans as well as over skinny jeans? Looking for something versatile.

  • stacy: "are these going to be available again or are they discontinued???"
  • Patricia: "Yes, I recently wore them with pants tucked in the boot--no problem! Great versatility and comfort. I really want another pair, but can't seem to decide on a second color!"
  • stacey: "Yes, you could. I have worn my both ways. I love these boots and hope to order another pair."
  • Anela: "You can definitely wear these with skinny jeans and/or leggings. The top portion of the boot is quite loose and relaxed so unless your boot cut jean is closer to a flare or has a wider opening, it may not work. It is also very wearable with skirts and dresses so it's still a very multi-functional pair of shoes!"
  • Judyth: "Yes! They are very versatile! I only wish they were wide. I ordered wide, but they didn't feel wide on my feet!"
  • Eileen: "I think so. It depends on how wide your boot cut jeans are. One of my jeans would easily fit over these boots. Another, slimmer boot leg, may not. Hope this helps."
  • melanie: "They are too wide in the ankle for me to wear under boot cuts. Looks odd imho. I have really not worn them a lot. But they are very comfortable. HTH!"
  • MELISSA: "yes you can...they look good either way."
  • C: "Yes, I have definitely been wearing them under boot cut jeans. They are already a staple in my wardrobe! (I have red). They are sooo comfy, as well as stylish!"
  • Natalie: "Bootleg.... depends on the size of the flare... I'd say no to your standard boot cut... but if the flare is a little bigger than average you should be good. And yes you can definitely wear them over skinny leg jeans."
  • Rg: "Yes you can wear them both ways , Good looking ether way."
  • M: "Yes, you could. I have only worn mine with boot cut jeans but there is plenty of room to tuck in skinny jeans if I wanted to."
  • Vivian: "Definitely under boot cut jeans...I even snuck them under straight leg slacks :)...leggings are perfect fit inside. I was comfortable in these boots right away"
  • Gloria: "Yes! I wear mine with boot cut jeans and skinny jeans as well...use them quite often and are very comfortable..."
  • R D: "Hi. Over boot cut jeans, definitely. The shaft of the boot is suede but thinner than the picture shows. For a skinny jean, it would probably look better with the leg tucked into the boot rather than pulling the pant leg over the boot but it may work. Hope this helps. :-)"
  • Karen: "Yes you would be able to do this. However I found that the boots are too tight on my feet, even with ordering a wide size. Also, they are more for style than for warmth."
  • Jennifer: "Not absolutely sure, as these are gifts for my daughter for Christmas, but I don't see why not. My daughter wears similar calf style cowboy boots under boot cut jeans. Hope this helps."
  • S: "Yes, I believe you can wear these boots with either."

Marti asked: Naturalizer previously carried narrow width boots. However, the website doesn't show that as an option when making boot selections. Does Naturalizer no longer carry narrow width?

Elissa asked: is this boot good for a high arched foot with a wide calf?

  • MARTHA: "Hi. I do not have a wide calf, but the boot is not high at all and has plenty of room to tuck your jeans into. It is very comfortable. I usually wear a size 9. I tried it on in a Naturalizer store in a 9 and it was too big. They did not have an 8 1/2 so I went online. The 8 1/2 fits great. I bought it in a wide because I wanted to wear thicker socks with it. I am glad I got the wide. It is more like a slouch type boot and I think you will be fine. I love mine."
  • angela: "Don't know about the high arch. But I have pretty thick calf and theses boots come right up to wear your calf starts.A lot of calf room, Very comfy. I LOVE these boots!!! I want them in ALL colors!!!!!!"
  • Frances: "I can't answer this question for Elissa because I don't have a high arch or a wide calf. All I can say is I love my boots which I ordered in an 8M. Sorry."
  • C: "Fine for a high arch. Boot is not tall so calf should not be problem"
  • Ifetayo: "Yes they are great for a wide calf and a wide foot"
  • C: "I think I have a fairly high arch and definitely a wide calf. These are really soft boots around the ankles and calf and very roomy. They are crazy comfortable."
  • Linda: "Not sure about the high arch as I don't have one but they do fit beautifully, wide calf or not. I had ankle surgery and they are one of the only boots I can wear. Both of my daughters bought them also and rave about how comfortable they are after wearing them all day. I don't think you would regret this purchase!"
  • Juli: "It will definitely fit a wide calf, but it does not have an arch support in it. If you have high arches, you may need to add support."
  • Kim: "I'm not sure about the high arched foot, but definitely good for someone with a wide calf, like me. Mine are very comfortable and didn't need to be broken in at all. I wore them recently to a zoo Christmas lights event, standing or walking for probably 2.5 hours, and they were great. Hope it helps!"
  • MELISSA: "I have high arches and wide calves also, so I ordered an 8W and found they are very comfortable and easy to pull on, even with thicker socks. I plan to order a second pair soon!"
  • Christina: "I ordered these boots because I love the look of them but I had to return them because of the fit. I also have high arches and they did not feel like they had much support. I have narrow calves and I was swimming in the them, so for a wide calf they would probably be fine. The look of these boots is so great but they just didn't feel substantial enough to walk in all day."
  • Stephanie: "I don't really have a wide calf but it's cut low enough that I would expect it wouldn't be a problem. I have high arches though and have found these boots to be very comfortable, even when on my feet all day walking around at work on a cement floor. My only complaint is that they seem a bit narrow, but maybe I should have ordered a larger size, I don't know."

cindy asked: I'm a size 9W, when I use your fit assistance, my feet measure size 11w. Can you please help in choosing my size correctly?

  • Hillary (staff): "Hi Cindy, The fit assistance/sizing chart is a tool to help determine the correct size. The instructions advise you to remove your shoes, and to place your the heel where indicated on the chart. For an accurate measurement we recommend printing both pages on 8.5"x 11" paper at 100% (actual size). I hope this helps, Hillary"

Mary Beth asked: The picture is showing wear (what looks like rubbing) on heels and toes--do they actually come like that?

  • Virginia: "I did NOT notice that on the green boots that I ordered."
  • M: "Hi Mary Beth, They do not come as pictured. They are suede which may have caused the light to capture what looks like rubbing. Hope this helps."
  • Marsha: "No, the suede is solid color. The boot is very comfortable. I have foot problem and can not just any shoe or boot. I know everybody is different but these I work well for me look great. I notice the thing you are talking about before I ordered them. "
  • H: "They do. I have the red pair and they have a very nice distressed look about them. It gives a little more dimension in the color, especially on the red pair. They are wonderfully comfortable!"
  • M: "I ordered these in red and YES they come like that. They look and feel great though!"
  • Ashley: "Yes, they come looking slightly worn but not overly so. These are actually now my favorite boots - they are very cute and extremely comfortable. "
  • LINDA: "yes, a small amount of wear has been added"
  • G: "Yes, they do have a rubbed, broken in look."
  • karen: "Picture misleading. No wear on boot at all. I did find however they run narrow- I returned mine for a wide fits perfect!"
  • Helen: "Yes, they do have mild distressing on the toes and heels. It is very subtle though. These boots are so comfortable. I've already bought two pairs and will buy more if my budget allows!"
